String Art Class

String Art Class

The Jackson City Library will be having a String Art Class Tuesday, May 5th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Samantha Hughes, who led the Button Art Class we had, will be back to lead this class on making your own string art. She will have a couple of demonstrations on display and she will be on hand to assist. If you have a hammer, please bring it along with you, as that is the only supply we are short on. All other materials will be provided, including templates. For more information and to register for this class, please call the library at 740-286-4111.

Adam Miller performs Woody Guthrie: American Balladeer

Please join us for an evening of folk music and storytelling by award winner Adam Miller on Friday, April 24th at 7:00 p.m. There is free admission to this special event and it is open to all ages. Adam is mostly self-taught, and learns almost everything by ear. He began his passion for folk music when he was in grade school. He started collecting old songs at a young age and would continue to do so throughout his career. His folksongs and ballads are the songs of America’s heritage, taking his audiences back to a time when the only form of entertainment was homemade.
